Wike will be expelled from PDP, take that to the bank – Bwala

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, will not only be suspended from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but expelled, says Daniel Bwala, a former campaign spokesman for the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

PoliticsNow reported how during an interview on Channels Television on Wednesday, Wike said no one can suspend him from the PDP.

In a reaction to the Wike’s interview, Bwala said the “quietness” of the PDP on Wike’s “anti-party activities” should in no way be mistaken for “weakness”. He made the comment on the same Channels Television, Thursday.

Bwala said Wike did not write to the national leadership of the party about taking up a ministerial appointment in Tinubu’s cabinet as he had earlier claimed.

Bwala said there is nothing wrong with a PDP member working in an APC government if the party decided to constitute a government of national unity.

“Why we hardly react to what he (Wike) says is because he loves drama; everybody knows that. He was saying that nobody can suspend him and the rest,” Bwala said.

“Believe me, the quietness of the party is not weakness. For everyone who is listening and sees what he is doing and the party is quiet about it, it is not a weakness. The party knows what it is doing.

“At the appropriate time, he would not only be suspended but expelled. Take that to the bank.

“There is nothing wrong with a member of the PDP working in Tinubu’s government as long as that decision is reached by the party.

“The party can sit down and decide that let us constitute a government of national unity.

“The party has not done that, and he is not the national chairman or chairman of the board of trustees.

“Everybody knows that he practically manipulated a lot of people and got them to work in his path until he achieved what he had achieved.”

The lawyer said Wike has the capacity and potential to initiate development projects as a minister but the problem will be whether he is willing to do so.
