Wike, Fubara meet at Aso Rock amid political feud
Amid intensifying political feud, the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, convened at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to sources, the former governor of Rivers State was observed exchanging pleasantries with his successor. This unexpected meeting took place against the backdrop of the impeachment proceedings initiated against Fubara by the Rivers State House of Assembly members believed to be loyal to Nyesom Wike on the preceding Monday.
Fubara and Wike, both prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), seemed to have convened at the Villa in connection with a gathering of the Nigeria Police Council.
This constitutional body holds oversight responsibilities concerning the organization and administration of the Nigeria Police Force. Notably, the Council is presided over by President Bola Tinubu.
