Wike, El-Rufai, Oyetola make Tinubu’s ministerial appointment list

It was learned on Thursday morning that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded a list of ministerial nominations to the Senate that includes former Kaduna State Governor, Nasiru El-Rufai, his counterpart from Rivers State Nyesom Wike, and renowned medical academic Ali Pate.

This comes as the country gears up for the announcement and confirmation of President Bola TInubu’s senatorial list by the Nigerian Senate.

The Nation Newspaper reports that Lawyer of note Lateef Fagbemi (SAN); economist Olawale Edun; banker Adebayo Adelabu; former governor of Osun State Adegboyega Oyetola; All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leader, Mrs. Betta Edu; senator Ben Ayade; and renowned journalist Dele Alake, who is currently the Special Adviser on Media, Strategy, and Special Duties, are also up for cabinet positions.

A Senate source told the newspaper that the President forwarded the list to Senate President Godswill Akpabio this morning in accordance with the constitutional requirement that the list be delivered to the National Assembly no later than 60 days following the inauguration of the president.

Politicians and technocrats are represented on the list, the source continued.

The insider, however, was unable to confirm whether the list contained portfolios. Furthermore, he was unable to confirm the number of nominees.

The source did claim that the list represented the President and the ruling party’s national character and viewpoint.

Nevertheless, the insider claimed that the list accurately captured the President and the ruling party’s national character and worldview.

After taking office, President Tinubu has made suggestions on forming a competent and inclusive government.

He claimed that in the best interests of the country, seasoned ministers will lead his ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda.

Although he kept the list secret, it was learned that it was compiled after extensive consultations with members of the ruling APC National Caucus, the Progressive Governors’ Forum, other key party leaders, and other stakeholders.
