Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has complained to the advocate of Muslim-Muslim ticket in the last presidential election, Sheikh Yahaya Jingir that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is bent on foisting hardship on Nigerians through unpopular policies.
Recall that Jingir, who is National Chairman of Jama’atu Izalatul Bid’ah Wa’Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) staunchly supported Tinubu in the 2023 election because of his choice of fielding a fellow Muslim as running mate.
During a recent visit to the Government House, Bala Mohammed notified Jingir that Tinubu has brought hardship to the country, especially people of the North.
He explained that the tax reform bills Tinubu has been vigorously promoting would also cripple the ability of governors to provide essential services to their people.
He said tax is the major revenue source of most states since Nigeria’s oil receipts are used in paying taxes. He warned that Tinubu’s attempt to change the sharing formular of the tax revenue would further cause hardship, hence, his opposition to the president.
