Former social media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has defended his principal’s inability to complete the Kano-Katsina Highway.
In a post on his official X account @BashirAhmaad, he said the failure to pay compensations by the Katsina State Government stalled the project.
He said; “You shouldn’t have attributed the failure to complete this project to former President Buhari without fully understanding all the factors that contributed to its incompletion.
“Are you aware why the Kano section was completed while the Katsina section was not? It is because Kano State has fulfilled its obligation to compensate those affected by the project, while Katsina hasn’t yet done that.
“The federal government under former President Buhari has completed the project’s payment. However, compensation along the Katsina section must be resolved before contractors can clear the necessary structures for the project to proceed.
“So, I think you should direct your call to the right channel, which is the Katsina Government.”
