We’ll punish anyone found culpable – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has pledged justice for the victims of the mistaken bombing of Tudun Biri village, stating that anyone found responsible for the bombardments will be appropriately punished. The President made this commitment during a condolence visit to Kaduna by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Scores of villagers celebrating Maulud were tragically killed, and many others were injured in an aerial military bombardment in Tudun Biri community, Ligarma village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna on Sunday night.

Speaking to the press after visiting the injured victims at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, Shettima emphasized the federal government’s commitment to combating banditry in the region. He assured that all the victims would be well taken care of under the Fulako Initiative, set to commence in December.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sent the delegation to express condolences to the people of Kaduna, highlighting the deep concern and empathy the President felt about the incident.

Shettima stated, “The President was deeply touched by what happened, and we would like to assure the people and government of Kaduna State that the government will take measures to protect and preserve the interest of our nation.”

He further added, “All measures will be taken to ensure that future occurrences are averted. The government will go to the root of the issue, and anyone found culpable will be punished accordingly.”
