Muhammad Idris, the newly sworn-in Minister of Information and national orientation, has stated that the ministry will no longer have to fabricate tales to support the administration.
Shortly after President Bola Tinubu sworn him and forty-four other ministers, Idris told reporters, “We will always say it as it is.”
Idris promised that when providing information to Nigerians, the federal government and ministry would do so in an open and sincere manner.
Idris said the ministry and federal government would be transparent and truthful while giving out information to Nigerians.
He further pledged that the government would take responsibility for any errors or mistakes it makes and work to make the necessary corrections.
He declared that the government’s central tenet would be national orientation.
“In a matter of days, we would roll out our plans to Nigerians,” he added.
The new information minister called on Nigerians to shun fake news and always clarify issues before taking it out to the public.
On her part, minister of arts, culture and creative economy, Mrs Hannatu Musawa, said the ministry would export Nigeria to the world while generating revenue for the country.
