A viral video has surfaced showing Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in an awkward encounter with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent visit to Nigeria. The 10-second clip shows Wike walking Modi to his vehicle and shaking hands, but things take a confusing turn when Wike suddenly inserts himself between Modi and the military orderly escorting him. Wike almost brushes shoulders with Modi in the process.
The incident has sparked claims that Wike’s actions may have earned him a ban from Aso Rock, Nigeria’s presidential villa, according to Jackson Ude, publisher of PointBlank News. However, the presidency has neither confirmed nor denied these claims.
It’s worth noting that Modi’s visit was a significant event, marking a renewal of ties between India and Nigeria. Wike had warmly welcomed Modi upon his arrival in Abuja . The visit included a closed-door meeting with Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and senior officials.
