Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike appears to have broken his old vow of never to cause former Governor Peter Odili and his wife, a former Supreme Court Justice, Mary Odili, any pain.
During a political outing recently in Rivers, Wike, who is now the minister of the Federal Capital Territory referred to the duo as one man and one woman. The event was aired on Channels Television to thousands of viewers. The clip of that video has been going viral on X.
Wike said: “I built the Cancer Center in a record time by the best construction company, Julius Berger and I named it after one man.
“I built the Judicial Institute and I named it after one woman.”

The cancer centre in Port Harcourt was built at the cost of N26 billion by Wike and commissioned in November 2022. Wike then named it after the former governor Odili.
Within the same period, Wike also built a judicial institute to train judges. He named it after Justice Mary Odili in a ceremony attended by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
The reference to the duo by Wike as one man and one woman appears to go against his old vow of never to go against the family.
In the vow, the video of which has gone viral, Wike said let him not grow if he ever did anything to cause the family of Odili to cry.
