Midway into the reading of the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have rolled out the drum in celebration.
They are currently dancing and waving APC flags around the venue of the Appeal Court where Justice Haruna Tsammani led panel is sitting.
The PEPC has been dismissing all the petitions of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Among the petitions against Tinubu so far dismissed include the seizure of $460,000 being proceeds of drugs from Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the United States. They ruled that the U.S. case is not criminal in nature and couldn’t be used to disqualify Tinubu.
The PEPC had also dismissed the argument of whether winning 25% in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was necessary in becoming President of Nigeria.
The Justice Tsammani-led panel said the voters in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja are equal to every other voters in the states in Nigeria, hence, Abuja has no special status.
The PEPC also dismissed the allegation against INEC that it failed to comply with its own rules of transmitting polling unit results to IReV. The PEPC judges held that INEC was not legally bound to do so.
