A member of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Gagdi, has boasted at a political rally of the APC’s connection with justices of the Supreme Court.
Gagdi made the comment following the victory of his party at the Appeal Court in the Plateau State governorship contest.
Recall that the Appeal Court sacked Governor Caleb Muftwang of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and replaced him with Goshwe of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Appeal Court had earlier sacked other opposition governors, including the Zamfara Governor, Dauda Lawal of the PDP and the Kano Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). In Kano, the court replaced the NNPP’s governor with the APC’s Nasir Gawuna. In Zamfara, it ordered a rerun in three local governments.
In the video of Gagdi which was shared on X by former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Professor Chidi Odinkalu, the APC chieftain could be heard boasting of their connection with justices of the Supreme Court amid cheers from the crowd.
He said: “We have gone to the Appeal Court. And the final destination is the Supreme Court. We will meet there. That is when we will know who they know, and they will know whom we know.”
