Palestinian girl broke down in tears after recognizing her mother’s hair among the dead
The pounding of Gaza has continued unabated, wrecking families and shattering dreams as Israel vowed to extract a steep price from Hamas.
On Monday, an Israeli airstrike left many dead, including women and children. A Palestinian girl in the age region of eight and ten, recognized her mother among the dead from her hair. She broke down in tears. Those around tried to talk her out of believing that the woman was her mum. She refused, insisting it was her mum and that she would not be able to survive without her.
The dead toll, since Israel commenced a punitive strike against Gaza, has exceeded 5,000.
Hamas, the political and military authority in Gaza, is believed to have been the brain behind the provocative attack on Israel which led to the death of about 1,000 civilians and the abduction of over 200 others.
In response, Israel promised to destroy Hamas and reduce Gaza to rubble.
So far, 23 Palestinian journalist have been killed by the relentless airstrikes, according to Aljazeera, which gave the name of the latest casualty to be Roshdi Sarraj, who died trying to protect his wife and daughter from an Israeli air strike near their home in the besieged Gaza Strip.
