Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has assured Rivers people of his readiness to defend their interest at all times.
Fubara, who appears to be locked in a battle of wit against his predecessor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says his eyes and ears are at the alert in meeting the demands of the people.
Fubara made the comment in a video posted on his X account on Friday, the same day two members of the House of Representatives, Awaji-Inombek Abiante and Boma Goodhead, led a solidarity march to the Rivers State Government House in support of Fubara.
They were joined by some members of the Ijaw Youths Council.
Abiante represents Andoni/Opobo/Nkiru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, while Goodhead represents Asari-Toru/Akuku-Toru Federal Constituency.
The two federal lawmakers led the IYC on a march from the UTC Junction along Azikiwe Road through to Government House and terminated at the State House of Assembly, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt where they addressed youths.
I assure you, we will continue to protect the interest of our people. pic.twitter.com/vbX95qpd8q
