A police officer has been caught in a video handing over his AK47 rifle to a newly wedded bride to shoot in the air to celebrate her wedding, per video shared on X.
In the video, the police officer was seen standing beside the bride in her white flowing gown. After discharging a shot in the air, she handed over the gun to the police officer amid applause by onlookers.
According to a description attached to the video, the police officer was said to be on escort duty during the weeding.
The video has elicited mixed reactions from netizens.
@PRINCIPAL_XY said: “The Bride might also be a police officer. We shouldn’t be too quick to condemn our institution.”
But @sonickay counters him, saying: “Ok, agreed. Please tell us the justification for the bride to shoot guns at her own wedding. Are gun-salutes legalized at weddings or anything goes cos she is a Police officer????”
@n_ikay_ said: “A very dangerous country. You can’t run a country like this and expect prosperity or anything good. Everyone doing what’s good in their eyes with no accountability.”
@gustavoofota001 also said: “She fit be one politician pikin.”
