Nigerians have reacted to a video of singer Teni Makanaki prostrating to a businessman, IBD Dende who was the subject of series of investigations on the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS).
Early in the year, ace journalist, Fisayo Soyombo published his investigative work on the Customs, alleging that the leadership was responsible for the smuggling of banned items into Nigeria by allegedly using IBD Dende as a front.
In one video published to corroborate THE claim, at least six AK47-bearing Customs officers were seen begging IBD Dende who seemed determined to assault an ‘overzealous’ customs officer who intercepted his alleged smuggled consignment.
The video of Teni prostrating to IBD Dende during a flight, has stirred reaction from netizens.
@TosinOlugbenga said: “For weeks, investigative journalist @fisayosoyombo constantly called out @CustomsNG and presented evidence of criminal activities of smuggling in collusion with IBD Dende and others. The Nigerian customs keep silent. The Nigerian police kept silent. The Nigerian Senate kept quiet. NAFDAC kept quiet. DSS kept quiet. EFCC kept quiet. Nobody was sacked or sanctioned. Yet, this Nigerian entertainer is here hailing and rolling on the floor for the same man.”
@Oluwafemi_sysad said: “The same IBD DENDE or another? Nigerians are not ready, in fact, we deserve our leaders. Until the day Nigerians learn not to worship money NOTHING will change. We’re all thieves. Neither of us is better than those in government. Most are just yet to get that opportunity to steal.”
@lollypeezle said: “When Teni snubbed Buhari during her award presentation, the country jumped for joy thinking she was protesting against the hardship in the country. ‘She’s on the side of the people😂’ Isn’t this IBD Dende with serious allegations at the border? Gbagbe (forget it), nobody is fighting for you.”
@samdhare said: “When I say Nigeria no fit beta, I know wetin I dey talk. This is the same IBD Dende that was exposed by @fijnigeria and @fisayosoyombo being worshipped by your celebs. Africa no fit beta, no be curse.”
@IamKonrade said: “I feel for those who put their lives on the line to see Nigeria changed. IBD Dende!!! Fisayo Soyombo, I’m sorry.”
