The Nigerian Italian returnee whose wife tore his passport at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, has revealed that the whole thing was a skit, begging Nigerians to forgive him.
He said what his wife tore was not his International Passport.
According to a video the man posted online, the Nigerian Immigration Service demanded to see his International Passport, and he has shown it to them.
PoliticsNow had earlier reported that there appears to be a strong possibility that the Italian returnees staged the passport tearing at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos in an elaborate skit to direct traffic to their YouTube page.
We further reported that the torn passport was likely an expired one. Although that won’t exonerate the woman from criminal liability.
YouTube is a money spinner for content creators. In Nigeria, the biggest YouTube earner is Pastor Jerry Eze who makes about N50 million weekly from his channel while praying for persons who throng to him to receive breakthrough prayers. The next biggest YouTube earner is Dunamis TV. It is also a religious channel that rakes in over N3.5 million weekly.
For the couple who have a YouTube channel where they’ve been posting skits, the Sunday episode at the Lagos Airport appears to be one of those skits.
The document my wife tore at the airport wasn’t my international passport. It was a skit. I didn’t know it would turn out this way. I’m begging everybody to forgive us, we are sorry — Content creator pic.twitter.com/NDchJePyyV
