The escalation led to the announcement of a 24-hour curfew in Kaduna to halt the rage of the protesters as some of them became riotous and even flew the Russian flag and asked the military to intervene.
Bauchi also announced a curfew in the Katagum local government to halt looting and vandalism. In all, curfew is now effective in at least six northern states, including Borno, Nasarawa, Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna and Bauchi.
The protesters who besieged Jamo’s campaign office in Daura, arrived there with hammers, nail removers and other carpentry equipment to strip the place of all its fittings.
Recall that on Day one of the protest, the protesters demonstrated at the Daura home of former President Muhammadu Buhari, setting up burn fires and chanting anti government slogans.
