The Lagos State House of Assembly turned rowdy on Monday morning when security agents attempted to gain entrance into the chamber during parliamentary activities.
The members who were attempting to resist a plot to force Speaker Mojisola Meranda to resign, resisted the moves of the security agents to enter the chamber of the Assembly by shouting at them and even screaming ‘ole,’ meaning thieves.
After calm was restored, the members passed a vote of confidence in the Speaker to continue to steer the affairs of the House.

The vote of confidence was seconded by Aro Moshood, another lawmaker after which the remaining 34 lawmakers supported the motion and passed a vote of confidence on the Speaker, Mojisola Meranda.
All staff of the Assembly also showed their solidarity support for the Speaker.
