A ward chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Okeagbe ward, Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State, Olumide Awolumate, has been seen in a video attacking the state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Olubunmi Osadahun, during distribution of food palliative.
Recall that after President Bola Tinubu removed subsidy on fuel, food grains and cash were given to each state for onward distribution to citizens. Many have reported receiving less than a kilogram of the items as palliative which is supposed to help them cope with the high cost of living.
It was gathered that during the sharing of the palliative in Okeagbe, the APC chairman in the ward physically attacked the Commissioner with a seat.
A video circulating on social media showed Olumide using a blue chair to attack the Commissioner who was injured and reportedly rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
The state government had commenced the distribution of the palliatives to the 18 Local Government Areas some few days ago.
