In form Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen might take legal action against his club Napoli, after the club TikTok handler posted a video mocking him following his penalty loss against Bologna over the weekend.
Popular sports influencer Fabio Romano detailed that Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda in a statement expressed his displeasure with the club over the TikTok video.
Mr Calenda while frowning at the development said it was not acceptable.
“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted…We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor,” statement by Osimhen’s agent read.
PoliticsNow recalls that Osimhen who was pivotal to Napoli’s league title victory last season became a subject of mockrey at the club after he missed a penalty when the club played Bologna.
Osimhen was already involved in the action for Napoli before missing the key penalty in the 72nd minute.
Lukasz Skorupski’s glove touched his shot earlier in the game, which struck the far post in the fifth minute. Five minutes later, he also headed wide.
The poor outcome versus Bologna adds to Napoli’s recent Serie A difficulties.
After a 2-2 tie with Genoa and a 2-1 loss to Lazio, Napoli is presently in seventh place in the league standings, seven points behind Inter Milan, who are now in first place.
Many Nigerians have already advised the striker to leave the club, stating that it is not deserving of the player who was essential to the team’s title-winning campaign last season.
Nigerians have already continued to criticise the club for publishing such an insensitive remark about the striker.
