An alleged rapist who identified as a woman has d!ed before she was due to appear at court charged with raping a young girl.
According to Mail Online, Maddison Wilson was charged with the rape and other historic sex offences against children earlier this month.
The 37-year-old appeared at a magistrates’ court two weeks ago and Wednesday was due to enter pleas at a crown court. But Southampton Crown Court heard the case would be ‘discontinued’ after a judge, who referred to the defendant as Mr Wilson – was told she had since d!ed.
Details about Wilson’s deeth remain unclear, however, preliminary inquest records state Wilson died on February 14 at the seafront next to a historic castle in Southsea, Portsmouth.
Wilson was found hanged just after midnight on February 14 – two days after his magistrates’ court appearance – the Hampshire coroner’s office said.
A full inquest will take place on a date yet to be set.
Wilson appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on February 12 after he was accused of raping a girl under 13 and causing or inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity, with both offences allegedly taking place in Hull, east Yorkshire, in 2011.
Wilson also faced one count of sexual assault against a boy under 13 and one of causing or inciting a boy under 13 to engage in sexual activity, with these offences allegedly happening in Southampton between 2017 and 2020.
The alleged rapist attended court proceedings wearing a pink headband and all-black clothing and spoke only to confirm his preferred pronouns of ‘she/her’.
The official court charge sheet identified Wilson as a female. It is not known how long he has identified as such. The wording of the rape charge said that Wilson allegedly assaulted a girl ‘with your pen!s’.
