Nigerians are angry at UK Conservative Party leadership hopeful Kemi Badenoch over repeated bashing of their country in her desperate bid to replace ousted ex-Prime Minister Rishi Sunak as leader of the Tory party.
The 44-year-old British Nigerian in an interview with the Mail, put down Nigeria again, saying she doesn’t want Britain to become like the place she ran away from.
She said: “This is my country. I love it the way it is. I don’t want it to become like the place I ran away from. I want it to get better and better, not just for me, but for the next generation.”
She had earlier claimed that her childhood in Nigeria was filled with tales of horror, with screams of neighbors every night being attacked, leading to fears whether their apartment could be the next.
Many have questioned the validity of Kemi Badenoch ‘s claim since she grew up claim since she grew up in the University of Lagos community that is relatively safer and secure.
Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, descended heavily on Kemi Badenoch.
He posted on his X handle on Saturday that, “A very stupid little girl and notoriously self-righteous bitch barks. Ever considered staying in the place you “ran away from” and trying to fix it? You are worse than Aunty Jemima, the female version of Uncle Tom. By all means try your luck at being elected leader of the British Conservative party but leave my country out of your pretty yet stinking mouth.”
@AmobiMunir said: “What’s she going to gain from putting down Nigeria at every given opportunity. Shame on her.”
@Galacticus_Obsaid: “For a lady who received her basic education in Nigeria to disparage the country at every slightest opportunity is not only disappointing but disgusting . Recently, she shamelessly referred to migrants as people who ‘come to the UK to watch their buttocks.’ Her level of intellectual submission to the UK is both shameful and deeply disappointing.”
@ABDULRA79848661 said: “What a shame… Nigeria is the source of what you are now, you where born hare and raised up in fact you study in here (the land you’re blasting up) and now you’re againsting your motherland, and calling your self a leader What a shame…”
