Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff, has emphasized the need to continue the fight against insurgents and finish them wherever they may hide in the country. During the Christmas luncheon organized by the Air Taskforce Component of Operations Hadin Kai in Maiduguri, Air Marshal Abubakar commended the laudable progress made in the fight against insurgents in the last six months.
Expressing confidence in the troops’ achievements, he highlighted the significant impact of operations, including the decimation of insurgents’ mass gatherings, disruption of their logistics, and elimination of top commanders through air power.
“In taking stock of our operations across the nation, I can confidently say that we have a lot of reasons to celebrate in the last 6 months,” Air Marshal Abubakar stated, urging the troops to continue the fight until the nation is entirely safe from criminals. He expressed optimism that the end of the insurgents is in sight.
Governor Babagana Zulum, represented by the state Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Prof. Usman Tar, reiterated his commitment to supporting the military in eliminating security challenges in the region.
The Commander of the Air Component of Operations Hadin Kai, Air Cdre GI Jibia, emphasized the need for robust synergies among sister security agencies to completely eradicate the insurgents. He assured that the fight would persist until all insurgents in the region are wiped out.
