A member of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Umar Datti, has been sacked by the National/State House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Kano.
Until his sack, Datti was the lawmaker representing Kura/ Madobi/Garun Malam Federal Constituency.
Datti, of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), was sacked for failing to resign as lecturer of the Bayero University Kano 30 days before the election.
The Tribunal Chairman, Justice Ngozi Flora Azinge consequently ordered INEC to set aside the certificate of return earlier issued to him, and declare Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who came second as winner of the election.
