In a dramatic English Premier League clash on Wednesday night, Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to claim a 3-2 victory over Brentford at home. After falling a goal behind early on to the Bees, Ange Postecoglou’s charges mounted an emphatic second half fightback to secure all three points.
Despite having a goal disallowed, Brentford took a deserved lead midway through the first half when Ivan Toney set up Neal Maupay to slot home. Seeking an immediate response, Tottenham pressed forward but were unable to break down an organised Brentford defence before the interval.
Whatever was said at halftime had an instant impact as Tottenham emerged energised after the break. Within the space of a minute, quickfire goals from Destiny Udogie and Brennan Johnson turned the match on its head to put the hosts 2-1 ahead.
Minutes later, Richarlison extended the lead to two goals with a classy finish for his eighth league goal this campaign. Though Ivan Toney pulled one back late on after capitalising on a defensive mishap, Brentford were unable to complete the comeback.
The win moves Tottenham up to fourth in the table while Brentford sit 15th after a fifth straight away defeat.
