Bashir El-Rufai, a son of ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has knocked President Bola Tinubu’s media team for criticizing former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Obasanjo had knocked the government under President Bola Tinubu, lamenting that public institutions are now subject to undue influence of vested interests.
He said: “State capture is one of the most pervasive forms of corruption. What is happening in Nigeria – right before our eyes – is state capture, where public institutions are subject to undue influence from vested interests.”
But the presidency in a riposte, said the ex- President lacks the moral ground to criticize any government owing to an alleged waste of $16 billion for producing zero megawatts of electricity.
In his intervention on the back and forth, El-Rufai’s son who has taken the role of a lead critic of Tinubu after his father was dropped in the formation of the cabinet, said the media team of Tinubu was acting like an ineffectual clown.
He said: “Attacking Obasanjo with the state of the country now has to be a mental illness permeating the whole media comms team. Inflation is at 33% o. Ineffectual clowns.”
