Tinubu vows to restore Nigeria’s economy
President Bola Tinubu, during his visit to Minna, Niger State on Tuesday, reaffirmed his government’s commitment to revitalizing the nation’s struggling economy. He appealed to the Nigerian populace for patience, assuring them that the period of hardship will soon come to an end.
While inaugurating the 1st Niger State Green Economy, the President acknowledged the challenges that economic reforms have posed for Nigerians and assured that all necessary measures were being taken to address these issues effectively.
Represented by Senator Aliyu Sabi, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of Nigerians’ support and understanding in achieving the government’s goals. He conveyed his belief that the current economic hardships are temporary and that the nation’s economy will rebound shortly.
The President highlighted the alignment of the government’s solid mineral policy, recently approved by the Federal Executive Council, with the green economy initiative. This strategic alignment aims to safeguard the country’s ecosystem while enhancing food production.
Former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, and Governor Umar Zulum of Borno State, in their separate goodwill messages, commended Governor Umaru Bago for embracing the Green Economy initiative. They urged him to see the project through to its successful completion, emphasizing the importance of achieving the outlined objectives.
Governor Bago, in his remarks, emphasized the state’s abundant natural resources and vast landmass, which includes fertile agricultural land. He asserted that the state is well-positioned not only to feed the nation but also to explore opportunities for agricultural exports.
