Nigerians who voted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February 25 presidential election are lamenting the high cost of living in series of videos posted on social media.
Tinubu ran his presidential campaign on the plank of renewed hope agenda where he promised that the quality of life will improve if voted into power. But six months into the administration, costs of living have skyrocket following the removal of fuel subsidy. The situation became worse with the floating of the Naira as industries in Nigeria mostly depend on imports from abroad to function.
From mosques, to markets and homes, Nigerians are lamenting, especially those who voted Tinubu on the strength of his ‘Renewed Hope’ campaign. In dozens of videos on social media, they decried the high cost of food stuff which they said was beyond their reach and said that was not what was promised them.
