President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, and Governor-Elect Usman Ododo on their triumphs in the recently concluded governorship elections.
Governors Diri and Uzodimma secured their re-election victories, representing the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) respectively. Meanwhile, Governor-Elect Ododo emerged victorious in the Kogi State governorship poll.
Shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared them winners of the off-cycle elections, President Tinubu conveyed his felicitations, asserting that the election outcomes resonated with the desires of the populace.
In a statement issued by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu commended the electorate in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa for their active participation in the electoral process, underscoring the resilience of democratic institutions and the influential role of the people in shaping the nation’s political landscape.
“The President applauds the voters for their role in strengthening democratic values, emphasizing that a thriving democracy is built on the foundation of rewarding competence, transparency, and good governance,” Ngelale stated on behalf of President Tinubu.
