Philip Shuaibu, the embattled Deputy Governor of Edo State, has asked his principal Godwin Obaseki to forgive him.
Pleading with Governor Obaseki while addressing journalists in Benin, Edo state capital, Mr Shaibu urged Governor Obaseki to forgive him so that they could develop the state together.
He asked the governor to forgive and forget.
“I use this medium to appeal to Mr Governor, if there is anything that I don’t know that I have done, please forgive me so that we can develop our state together,” he said.
“We have just one year to go. We have been the envy of the entire country. So Mr Governor, if there is anything you feel that I have done, please I am sorry. I need us to work together to finish well and strong.”
Recall that Obaseki and Shaibu had been at loggerheads for months. According to reports, the dispute erupted after Shaibu revealed his intention to contest at the forthcoming governorship election in the state against Obaseki’s approval.
