In a Serie A clash, league leaders Internazionale faced a setback as they were held to a 1-1 draw away to Genoa. Marko Arnautovic’s first league goal for Inter was nullified by a powerful header from Genoa’s Radu Dragusin. Arnautovic, returning from a hamstring injury, tapped in a rebound off the post after Nicolò Barella’s volley to break the deadlock in the 42nd minute. However, Genoa managed to equalize just before halftime when Dragusin’s header from a corner beat Inter’s goalkeeper, Yann Sommer.\
Despite the draw, Inter remains at the top with 45 points, but second-placed Juventus, with 40 points, now has an opportunity to narrow the gap as they face Roma on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Napoli faced a setback in their quest for a top-four spot with a 0-0 draw against Monza at home. Napoli missed several chances, and Monza had an opportunity to secure a win with a penalty, but Matteo Pessina’s effort was saved by Napoli’s goalkeeper, Alex Meret. Napoli’s manager, Walter Mazzarri, expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance but lamented the missed chances. The draw leaves Napoli in seventh place with 28 points, trailing the top four by five points and Inter by 17 points.
In another Serie A fixture, Fiorentina secured a dramatic 1-0 home win over Torino with Luca Ranieri’s header in the 83rd minute, propelling them to fourth place. Lazio overcame a goal deficit to beat Frosinone 3-1, with goals from Valentín Castellanos, Gustav Isaksen, and Patric in the late stages of the match. Lazio, led by Maurizio Sarri, now sits in eighth place with 27 points.
