In a thrilling encounter on Friday night, Juventus clinched a dramatic 2-1 victory against Monza, propelling them to the summit of the Serie A table with a last-gasp winner in the 94th minute. The match unfolded with intense back-and-forth action, witnessing Monza leveling the score in stoppage time, only for Juventus to swiftly respond and secure all three points.
The first half began with excitement as Juventus earned a penalty in the 9th minute when Georgios Kyriakopoulos fouled Federico Chiesa in the box. Despite Dusan Vlahovic’s initial penalty being saved, he followed up to convert the rebound, miraculously cleared off the line by Monza’s Michele Di Gregorio. Juventus, however, took the lead moments later with Adrien Rabiot nodding in a header from a 12th-minute corner.
Although Monza dominated possession in the second half, they struggled to create clear scoring opportunities. In injury time, substitute Valentin Carboni changed the narrative by netting a cross at the back post, leveling the score at 1-1.
The joy of the home fans was short-lived as Federico Gatti, making amends for an earlier miss, smashed in a rebound in the 94th minute, sealing a dramatic 2-1 victory for Juventus.
