Just elected Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, have met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja.
This came immediately after Godswill Akpabio’s emergence as the Country’s Senate President of the 10th National Assembly. Sani Tambuwal, the Clerk of the National Assembly, declared Akpabio as the Senate President, having garnered 63 votes leaving his rival with 46 votes.
On Monday June 12, the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma who chaired a “Small Technical Committee to help coordinate the process of Tuesday’s election” in the Senate and the House of Representatives, said his team was hopeful of a landslide victory for Akpabio. The victory was guaranteed after the election of the new Senate President.
Many more are hopeful that his emergence as the Senate President, will also see an effective collaboration between the Senate and the Executive for faster execution of projects across the country.
