On Wednesday, the Senate unveiled its latest appointments, designating a new Deputy Senate Leader and deputy Chief Whip.
Senator Oyelola Ashiru, representing Kwara South, has been appointed as the new Deputy Senate Leader within the Upper Legislative Chamber.
In parallel, Senator Nwebonyi Peter Onyeka, hailing from Ebonyi North, has been chosen as the Senate’s new deputy Chief Whip.
This appointment of Ashiru marks a transition, succeeding Dave Umahi, who previously held the position. However, Umahi was called to serve as the Minister of Works by President Bola Tinubu, necessitating this change.
