Renowned rap artist Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing serious allegations of rape and sex trafficking made by ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura, known as Cassie in the music industry. In a lawsuit obtained by the BBC, Ventura claims she endured a decade of abuse and violence.
Sean Combs, also known as Puff Daddy, vehemently denies these accusations, asserting that the singer is attempting to extort him. His legal representative deems the claims “offensive and outrageous.”
Ventura, an R&B singer and dancer, alleges that Combs subjected her to rape and physical assault over a ten-year period, starting when she was 19 and he was 37. The lawsuit details explicit instances of violent abuse that reportedly began in 2005, shortly after they met.
The complaint asserts that Combs, who signed Ventura to his record label Bad Boy, used drugs and alcohol to manipulate her. It describes him as a “serial domestic abuser,” accusing him of regularly beating and kicking Ventura, resulting in injuries such as black eyes, bruises, and blood.
In a statement, Ventura expressed her readiness to share her story, aiming to shed light on violence and abuse faced by women in relationships.
Combs’ lawyer claims Ventura demanded $30 million under the threat of publishing a damaging book about their relationship, a demand rejected as “blatant blackmail.”
Ventura’s lawyer counters that Combs offered her a significant sum to prevent the lawsuit. The legal action also includes an allegation that Combs planned to destroy a car belonging to rapper Kid Cudi due to jealousy over Ventura’s relationship with him.
As the legal battle unfolds, the accusations cast a shadow over the career of the influential music mogul.
