Cristiano Ronaldo single-handedly won the Arab Club Champions Cup for Al Nassr after netting a brace in the final to inspire his team to a comeback victory over Al Hilal.
Al Hilal took an early second half lead and were cruising to victory when the Portuguese superstar showed up with a moment of brilliance in the final 15 minutes.
The 38-year-old latched onto Al Ghanan’s cross from the right to level the score with Al Nassr a man down following the red card to Abdulelah Alamri four minutes earlier.
Brazilian duo Malcom and Michael combined to give Al Hilal the lead in the 51st minute, but the game had to travel to extra time following Ronaldo’s goal.
Eight minutes into extra time, Ronaldo headed home from a Sekou Fofana curler which hit the crossbar.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star has now won his first-ever trophy with Saudi club Al Nassr after just six months with the Yellow and Blues.
He is expected to help them win the Saudi Pro League which began this weekend, with Al Nassr set to play Al Ettifaq in their opener.
