Rivers Elders raise alarm over Fubara’s whereabouts, say ‘no one has reached him’

A chieftain of the pan Niger Delta Elders Forum (PANDEF), Chief Anabs Sara-igbe has raised an alarm that none of the Rivers Elders have been able to reach Governor Siminalayi Fubara since his suspension by President Bola Tinubu.

Sara-Igbe raised the alarm during an interview on Arise News on Thursday.

He said: “We have not seen Fubara. We don’t know where he is.”

When asked if they have reached out to the newly appointed sole administrator Retired Vice Admiral Ibot-Ete Ekwe Ibas, he said they won’t engage with an illegality.

Meanwhile there are indications that a number of lawmakers are not in support of President Bola Tinubu’s Emergency Rule in Rivers .

The Emergency Rule declared on March 18, will only be valid if two-third of lawmakers endorse it today, which is the last day for such ratification. But the president is facing an uphill battle in his bid to secure two-thirds majority in the national assembly to approve his declaration of emergency rule in Rivers, per TheCable report.

Also, human rights activist Deji Adeyanju said there was a plot to rig the process with a voice vote, instead of individual voting to determine the two-third. According to Adeyanju, he got the information from a senator.
