Remi Sonaiya reacts to Nwebonyi’s insults to Ezekwesili, queries: “How come a senator could be so crude?’

A former presidential candidate of the KOWA Party in the 2015 election, Remi Sonaiya has expressed shock over the level of insults meted against former minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili by Senator Peter Nwebonyi.

Nwebonyi, the senator representing Ebonyi North called Ezekwesili unprintable names in reaction to her initial remark that he should shut up.

The duo had engaged in a heated exchange during the Senate ethics committee hearing probing the allegation of sexual harassment against Akpabio.

The senator from Ebonyi North, an ally of Akpbio later descended into a street fight, calling Ezekwesili unspeakable names including ‘smelly mouth’, ‘big fool’, ‘fool at 70.’

In reaction to the gutter language, Remi Sonaiya wondered how come a santor could be so crude.

She posted on her X handle: “Still can’t wrap my head around how a response to ‘Shut up!’ could be those unprintable words that Senator Nwebonyi used to address Dr

@obyezeks! Why not, ‘You too, shut up!,’ for example? What had been festering in his mind all along? How come “a Senator” could be so crude? SAD!”
