Portable (Habeeb Okikiola), the street music guy, has been retained in police custody for failing to meet bail conditions over his failure to pay the balance on his Mercedes Benz G-Wagon after depositing N13 million with the dealer.
The police arrested him on Tuesday after the dealer reported him for his refusal to pay the balance N14 million for the car, which costs N27 million.
The police said Portable was arrested in the Abule Egba area of Lagos after several attempts to escape.
Lagos Police Command spokesman Benjamin Hudenyin confirmed the singer will remain in the police cell pending when he is able to produce a reliable surety for his bail.
