The Spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has announced a strategic shift towards incorporating technology into police operations, as disclosed in a statement released via the official Police Force handle on Saturday.
Adejobi emphasized the force’s commitment to leveraging various technological tools to acquire assets and enhance the training of its personnel in alignment with international best practices. Notably, he highlighted the introduction of digital platforms such as the digitalized Crime Management Register (CMR) and Police Vehicle Geographical System (VGS) as pivotal steps in the effort to combat crimes effectively.
In the statement, Adejobi stated, “We are embracing technology to enhance policing in Nigeria. Through the utilization of available resources, we are actively acquiring assets and providing training for our personnel in accordance with global standards.”
He further explained that the integration of e-platforms like the Digitalized CMR and Police VGS is expected to play a significant role in addressing various criminal activities, particularly those related to vehicles. Adejobi urged the support of Nigerians in championing the cause against illegalities and vices, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in promoting a safer and more secure society.
