The Lagos State Police Command has identified several individuals in connection with the unfortunate passing of the talented Afrobeats artist, Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba. The incident, which occurred on September 12, has raised questions and triggered a detailed probe.
Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe, an auxiliary nurse, has emerged as the prime suspect in the case. The police alleged that Ogedengbe administered a combination of potent injections to Mohbad on the day of his passing.
These injections included Tetanus Toxoid, paracetamol, and Cetrazone, an antibiotic. The administration of these medications at Mohbad’s residence on September 12 led to an immediate and severe reaction, characterized by vomiting, goosebumps, and convulsions.
The Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, has emphasized that Ogedengbe’s actions were carried out in an unprofessional manner, as she lacked the proper qualifications and a clinical environment for such procedures.
Additionally, Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owodunni, also known as Primeboy, a close childhood friend of Mohbad, has come under scrutiny. It was revealed that an event they both attended on September 10 escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in injuries to the late singer. The subsequent management of these injuries is believed to have contributed to his tragic passing.
Sam Larry, whose real name is Samson Balogun, has been detained due to his alleged involvement in the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, including the dissemination of viral videos in which the late artist made claims of bullying and assault.
Abdul-Aziz Fashola, widely recognized as Naira Marley, is another individual who has been apprehended and remains in detention on related allegations.
The investigative process has seen significant developments, including the exhumation of Mohbad’s remains, an autopsy, and toxicology tests, all conducted on September 21. The results of these tests are currently pending, as authorities continue their efforts to uncover the truth behind this unfortunate incident.
