The Lagos State Police Command has paraded three suspects who were seen in a viral video whipping a lady severally on the alleged order of Don Maserati Classic Boutique owner in Lagos Island.
Posting on his X handle, Lagos Police Spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin said three suspects who were connected to the assault have been arrested. He also revealed that efforts are on the way to locate the lady.
He said: “Three suspects have been arrested, while efforts are on to apprehend other suspects and establish contact with the victim.”
Hundeyin added that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Ishola has assured that justice would be served.
According to several captions of the viral video, the lady was accused of theft by the owner of the boutique. The boutique owner then decided to take the law into his own hands by ordering other employees to assault the lady. Three able-bodied men were then seen in the video flogging the lady severally all over her body.
Netizens have commended the police for swiftly rounding up those involved in the beating of the lady, saying such a cruel act has no place in civilised society.
