PDP, ADC and LP call for cancellation of election
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, African Democratic Congress ADC and the Labour Party have called for the cancellation of the Presidential and National Assembly elections and the immediate resignation of the INEC chairman Professor Mahmud Yakubu.
They made the call at a joint News Conference by the National Chairman of PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, the National Chairman, Comrade Julius Abure and that of ADC, Dr. Ralph Oke- Nwosu in Abuja on the ongoing release of results.
The National Chairman of Labour Party, Comrade Julius Abure said that the electoral process failed the integrity test as it was characterised by violence, intimidation of voters , doctoring of results from Polling stations and the failure of INEC to upload results when announced at polling units.
Comrade Abure maintained that the INEC chairman has failed to play according to the rules and called for the Immediate appointment of an interim chairman of INEC to re-conduct a fresh election devoid of violence and manipulations.
They also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to prevail on INEC to ensure that a free and fair election is conducted.
