Jake Paul, the 27-year-old YouTube sensation turned boxer, claimed another victory in his professional career by knocking out former UFC star Mike Perry in the sixth round of their fight in Tampa on Saturday night.
Perry, a last-minute replacement for Mike Tyson, put up a spirited performance but ultimately could not withstand Paul’s superior boxing skills.
The match was a gruelling contest, with Paul dropping Perry in the first and second rounds before delivering the final blow in the sixth. Despite Perry’s determination to put up a good fight, the referee stopped the bout after the third knockdown, declaring Paul the winner by technical knockout.
Following his victory, Paul praised Perry’s toughness and expressed excitement about his future in boxing. He called out UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira for a potential boxing match and urged Mike Tyson to sign the contract for their proposed November bout.
This win marks Paul’s fourth consecutive victory since his sole professional loss to Tommy Fury in 2023. Perry joins a list of former UFC fighters Paul has defeated, including Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, and Ben Askren.
Paul’s next challenge is set to be against former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, who will be 58 years old when they meet in the ring later this year. The match promises to be a significant event in the boxing world, pitting youth against experience.
