Doyin Odebowale, Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties and Strategy to Governor Akeredolu, has alleged that the Ondo Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa was hoping that his principal would die so that he would succeed him.
Odebowale made the comment on Channels Television’s Politics Today. The show host, however, prevented him from proceeding with that comment.
Odebowale, who claimed the governor was watching the show, said Akeredolu was surrounded by enemies.
The allegation against the deputy governor is coming the same day a strong delegation of the All Progressives Congress (APC), met with aggrieved lawmakers of the Ondo State House of Assembly who wanted to impeach the deputy governor.
The delegation, which arrived at the APC national secretariat at about 1.25 p.m. in a large convoy, later resolved to halt the impeachment move.
The development is coming eight days after APC chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje established a reconciliation committee to resolve the political impasse between the warring parties.
