No fewer than 100 nen of Amotekun Corps in Ondo State have been deployed to Ekiti State in a rescue mission.
The Amotekun Corps who stormed forests in Ekiti State were in a searching mission for abductors of pupils of Apostolic Faith Nursery/Primary School, Emure-Ekiti, Ekiti State who were kidnapped on Monday on their way to Eporo-Ekiti.
The deployment of Corps (Amotekun) was based on the order of the State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
The Ondo State Corps Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye who disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Akure on Wednesday said Governor Aiyedatiwa ordered that the state Amotekun Corps should move to Ekiti State to assist them in searching for the kidnappers.
It would be recalled that Ekiti State was under siege since on Monday as gunmen shot dead two monarchs and abducted six pupils, three teachers and a driver of an elementary school at different locations on the same day.
According to him, some persons have been arrested during the combing of Ekiti forests, saying investigation is ongoing while the search for the pupils continues.
He also paraded 31 crime suspects in Akure, Ondo State capital for various crimes saying that the 24-hour patrol of the formation with the collaboration of other security agencies in the state paid off in checking criminal activities in the state.
The Corps Commander warned that no hunter should enter any forest reserve in the state without permission and complying with all laid down rules and regulations by the state government.
He therefore disclosed that the joint border patrol between Ondo and Osun states Amotekun Corps has been reinforced to prevent travelers from being attacked or molested by criminals.
