Ondo State House of Assembly has confirmed Dr. Olayide Adelami as the new Deputy.
Adelami who was nominated by the State Governor, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa yesterday was screened and ratified today by the lawmakers
The ratification was done during plenary presided over by the Speaker Mr Olamide Oladiji while the Clerk of the House, Mr Benjamin Jaiyeola read the nomination letter written by the governor.
Submitting the report, the Deputy Speaker Prince Abayomi Akinruntan noted that during the screening, Dr Adelami was confirmed to be man of reputable character, well expose, physically and mentally fit for the position hence the confirmation of the deputy governor designate.
In his response, Adelami thanked Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for giving him the opportunity to serve.
He noted that his appointment was a call to duty and promised to work for the development of the state and the country at large at the same time promote harmonious relationship between the executive and the legislature.
The deputy governor emphasized that the executive arm needed the support of the people of the state in order to perform for the development of the state.
However, the Speaker, Mr Oladiji said the task before the executive and other arms of government was enormous and cannot afford to fail.
He therefore pledged the support of the legislature stressing that with the confirmation of Dr Adelami, the stage is now set for the rapid development of the state
