A Nigerian musician, Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji aka Oladips, is dead.

He was only 28 years old.

The popular street rapper was reportedly rushed to the hospital on Tuesday night over an undisclosed illness but didn’t survive it.

Oladips’ death is coming weeks after the controversial death of another young musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as MohBad.

The news of his demise was posted by his management via the artist’s official Instagram page.

“We are saddened to inform the general public that Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji aka OLADIPS has passed away yesterday Nov’14 Tuesday evening, at exactly 10:14pm. We are still in shock as we speak!

“For over 2 years he has kept his battles within himself, his body is now with his family & funeral service will be announced as soon as it is concluded!

“The family asked that we respect their privacy in this trying time. May God give us all the fortitude to bear this great loss. (Amen)  -Management,” the statement reads.

Oladips signed his first record contract with Nigerian music record label EDGE Records.

He sang a rendition of a Drake and Trey song, which the audience enthusiastically accepted.

He composed the incredible song “Don’t Let Dagrin Down,” in memory of the late Dagrin and received ton of accolades.

On November 15, a video of the rapper surfaced online where he was heard requesting his pal, identified on Instagram as OnlyOneLifetime, to drive him to the hospital.

Before being brought to the hospital, Oladips sent a message on his Instagram story requesting his friend to fetch him drugs when returning home.
