Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the September 21, 2024 Edo Governorship election, Asue Ighodalo, has dragged Jarret Tenebe, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to court over allegations of stealing billions of naira.
In a letter by Banwo and Ighodalo, the solicitors to the former PDP Governorship candidate, they demanded an apology among other reliefs from Tenebe failure of which would result in a lawsuit.
Tenebe had in an attempt to explain away the struggle of Edo Governor, Monday Okpebholo in pronouncing figures during budget presentation, claimed the difficulty was as a result of the innocence of the governor who hasn’t stolen money unlike Asue Ighodalo whom he alleged had stolen billions.
Ighodalo says the publication of the allegation has caused him distress and embarrassment. He demanded that Tenebe produce a video and circulate it in all the mediums that published the offending material. He also demanded a letter of apology addressed to him that is personally signed by Tenebe
