A former governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa has explained that it is important for President Bola Tinhbu to complete an eight-year tenure.
Speaking on Arise Television, the former governor who just decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said for Nigeria’s stability, Tinubu needs to complete his second term as president.
Okowa said, “The politics today may not be about the North South because I believe that both from the North and the South people are competing.
“And in all political parties, you’re likely going to have people from the North and South. But beyond all these, for the stability of this nation, I also do believe that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was elected president in 2023 and for the stability of Nigeria, it is best for us to have him complete his eight-year tenure.
He further stated that after the completion of President Tinubu’s second tenure, the next president could emerge from the Northern part of Nigeria.
“Then the presidency can move back to the North, I believe that that is the right thing,” Okowa said.
